Petal for macOS

A terminal for Claude Code, with a reader for its replies and a cat who keeps you company.

Claude writes careful replies. Petal gives each one a page.

Apple Silicon (M1–M4) 92 MB Intel 101 MB Version 1.0.6 · macOS Needs Claude Code and a Claude account (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise).

Get started

Six steps. About five minutes.

  1. Install Claude Code.

    curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

    Or brew install --cask claude-code.

Check claude --version prints a version.

  2. Download Petal and drag it to Applications.

  3. Open Petal. When it asks to read your Claude folder, click Allow.

It stays on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded.

  4. Click Add Session. Claude starts in the new tab.

  5. First time only: pick how to sign in. Your browser opens. Sign in with your Claude account.

Check the terminal says you are logged in.

  6. Ask Claude something. The reply lays out above. Your cat wakes when it is done.

Reader empty? Make sure you clicked Allow (Customize can turn it on later), and that your Claude plan includes Claude Code (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise).

A reply opens with the answer

The build is slow because it type-checks twice
